What's going on with OMGeek.net?
Hey! We're still alive and kicking (just in case anybody was wondering)! Now with that out of the way, we truly apologize for the severe lack of content updates on the blog. Being busy doesn't begin to describe what we've been going through for the past few months. And since we look at the community as an extension of our circle of friends, we would just like to update everyone on what's going on behind the scenes in OMGeek:
>2013 has been quite a year for me personally. I would like to describe it as a year of new beginnings. I got married, I became a dad and also a founder of a startup called Pixelkit (more on that later). Things have been truly a whirlwind for me and I won't lie to you that I am a very anxious for what is coming. Will I be a good husband, father, entrepreneur? How will I succeed on being good on all 3? I'm not even sure on how I'm coping with the pressure, but somehow, I am (so far!). Okay enough of being too emo, let's keep this blog post moving!
So what's Pixelkit exactly? It's a company that Jed and I started up and we make websites and mobile apps. Its also an excuse for us to design and develop games as we have dreamt of doing way way back (even before OMGeek). We're currently trying our hand in developing a mobile game and eventually move up to other platforms. When the time comes for us to unveil our game, I hope the community could give us the support and feedback. But right now, in order for the company to stay afloat, we're developing a few mobile apps and websites for other clients, which is keeping Jed really busy.
Mike on the other hand, is currently knee-deep in promoting 3DHive, an educational gaming platform. It is actually what you think it is. Games for students to play and learn at the same time (which will be doing a podcast episode on soon!). He's been going around promoting to schools in Singapore and actually just came from Brunei to do a collaborative project with the Ministry of Education.
So as you can see, we pretty much got a lot of things on our plate. I hope the community will understand why we're being radio-silent for the past few weeks. But don't worry, 2014 will be more exciting (especially for me). We have a few things lined up and we will be announcing when the time is right. To those who have been sticking around the chatroom, reading our blog and listening to our podcast, we give our heartfelt thanks for your continual support!
OMGeek is a project that Jed, Mike and I are passionate about and we will still continue to pursue to keep it up and running and improving it along the way. Like everyone else, each of us have our own responsibilities to prioritize first. Once we get our schedules sorted out, we’ll be back to our continual updates. Again, thanks to everybody who have stuck around and I hope you could bear with us for the mean time!
