This Week: OMGeek Turns 2!
It feels like a million years ago, but I woke up this morning from a very colorful Amnesia-fueled dream and realized that OMGeek is actually turning two years old tomorrow, not a million. That's two long years -- two long years of server administration, feverish writing, even more feverish coding, and inappropriate jokes in the Steam chatroom. We're about to celebrate twenty four solid months of surprises, successes, failures, and many, many new friends, most of whom I don't even have faces to attach to the names yet! It's the people that make this little thing of ours great, and I'm glad you guys are here, reading this intro, trying to figure out when I'm actually going to talk about what's coming this week.
I'm glad you asked.
Editorial - Tomorrow, Mike has a very special message for the OMGeek community about turning two and how OMGeek has had an impact on us and our lives.
Throwback Thursday - James writes about some light gun shenanigans from back in the day. You do remember light guns, do you? How do those damn things work, anyway?
Editorial - And in an unprecedented double editorial week, Jed responds to James's article about why he doesn't play horror games, and why he's missing out.
We're recording our anniversary episode of the OMGeek Podcast this Sunday (topic: "What's it like being a gamer in Southeast Asia?"), so if you have any messages for the founders or the community -- congratulatory missives, poison pen letters, awkwardly personal questions, or pleas for relationship advice -- let us know before then and we might talk about them on the show!
